During this project, we were given the opportunity to interact with chief meteorologists, Wayne Hart at News 25 WEHT-TV out of Henderson, KY. and Ron Rhodes at Fox 7 News WTVW out of Evansville, IN. This experience has shown us the significance of meteorology. Learning about this career has supplied us with a new outlook on all aspects of being a meteorologist such as the behind-the-scenes effort and the preparation for the weather forecast. We learned about the various types of technology, and the way a meteorologist carries out his job. We have gathered information to share with you about the S.T.E.M. career of meteorology.

Why did we choose this profession?

Meteorology is very important to our daily lives. Weather can be dangerous to communities around the world, and meteorologists have the tedious job of warning us about incoming conditions.
As a community in Henderson, Kentucky we have experienced many detrimental weather disasters. Therefore, meteorologists have been a vital part of our lives. Whether ice storms or tornadoes they have always been there for us, so it is apparent why we are interested in further investigating this occupation.

The video footage above shows us explaining why meteorology is important to each of us.
